Gorgeous Weekend at the Beach

I went to Nasugbu, Batangas over the weekend with Billy, Ann, Aferev, Mel, Ivy, Yaba and Chester. We've all been friends since elementary days which means we've been a barkada for more than half of our lives. Growing up in a 'controlled' environment, we didn't have the luxury to have sleepovers or go out-of-town without parents until after high school.

We all went to different high schools, colleges, and workplaces but we made it a point to still keep in touch and meet once in a while. In that almost 15 years of friendship, this is the first ever out-of-town trip we took together. It took us 6 months to pick a date which our schedules would permit and another 3 months to book a resort. That's why we all knew that although we were just going to Batangas, pushing through with this first-ever trip was a major achievement for all of us.

Our group is called "Gorgeous 6" not because we are feelingeras and like being called pretty, but it started out as a joke. Back in college, when it was uso to come up with group names, we started thinking of a group name. I remember stopping by Tickles during one of our dinners and seeing an item with a statement that said "Gorgeous." As a joke, we said "E di Gorgeous nalang." The name grew on us and we never attempted to change it. Tsaka, hndi ba obvious? (Of course I'm only kidding).Too bad Chesca wasn't able to join us, so it was just "Gorgeous 5." Hahaha. But it was okay because Billy, Aferev and Chester joined the trip.

We got to the resort around 10AM. It wasn't as nice as expected but we all decided to make the most out of the stay. While resting, some of us played the "In-between" card game which was a lot of fun. (All in!!!) Here are pictures from our kubo just before grabbing lunch.

The In-Between Game

After lunch, we went back to the hotel and Aferev suggested we go island hopping. The resort didn't have a nice beachfront and pool that's why we figured out we had to get out of there. We went island hopping to Kawayan Cove. We left the room at around 3:30PM which meant that the waves were stronger. Good thing it was only 15 minutes away from the resort.

Kawayan Cove was nice. They said it was the shooting place of a TV show called 'Mutya.' The sand was off-white, but what we liked was how less-crowded the beach was. The place also had a cave which we went to. It was hard swimming in the beach because of the rocks but the water was clear.
Going to the cave was a struggle especially for non-adventurous people like me. Haha! We had to concentrate on balancing between slippery and sharp rocks or you'll fall flat on your face or worse, hit your head. The cave looked really nice in pictures though, and that was my motivation. It was so easy for Billy though, and he told me to "cup" the rocks before stepping on them. He was really strict the whole time! When I would stand up and take breaks to stretch, he would shout "Wag ka na tatayo! Basta gapang, dere-derecho! Ayan! Nice form! Dalian mo! Cup mo ang bato! Wag ka diyan, madulas!" Instant workout! I made it in and out of the cave with a few small bruises and scratches but it was okay. Billy said crossing the rocks was part of "life lessons" that I have to learn so I'll survive. (Either that or because I was starting to get really grumpy.) Check out the pictures.
First ones to make it!

But Billy had to go back for me. Haha!
Balancing for pics!
Naiinip na maghintay!

Chester chillin'
Whew! Nakaupo rin. Bilis picture!!
Finally! :)

Look at Ann and Af at tbe background waiting for us to cross haha!

Struggle!
Ann and I went swimming in the pool while waiting for our turn in the shower, while the boys had a few drinks at the veranda. Then we all had dinner at Jollibee. The resort had a very convenient location complete with drugstores, fastfoods, convenience stores and banks so I thought that was cool. It was also less than an hour away from Tagaytay so we all decided we would grab brunch there in the morning. Bi and I wore the couple shirts he gave me last March. It's cute!

When we went back to the room, we played a round of "In-between" again while having chips and drinks. There was a lot of booze so we didn't want them to go to waste so we played another drinking game and we kept laughing the whole time. We finished a bit after midnight but I decided to call it a night because I was already dizzy and I needed help going up the double decked beds. (Ihateyou Tanduay Ice!)

Surprisingly, we all slept through the non-stop videoke parties from our neighbors and the smell of katol so the mosquitoes would go away. During the morning, we all had breakfast in the veranda, packed our things, and went to Bag of Beans in Tagaytay. The ride was really chilly and foggy and we found out there was a public storm signal raised by the time we reached Manila.I can't remember the last time I went there, but the place is fancier now. We stayed at one of the cabanas and their coffee was good. Some of us ordered food and we all had coffee.

This is a special vacation for me because it proved that as long as with you are with good company, the trip is all worth it. I'm so happy Bi decided to come along too, because I also wanted him to meet my first-ever barkada and dearest girlfriends. He also said he had a lot of fun and "understood" a lot of my quirks. Hahaha! We were also celebrating our 26th month that Sunday so sakto lang.

I think this is the last trip for me this year. I am saving up for other stuff I want and I can't afford another trip.Gorgeous, let's make this a yearly thing! Next time with Chesca na ha! :)

No pics of the pool? So I guess that resort is a no-go for next time huh? I really miss White Cove there in Nasugbu. BTW I love the couple shirts haha ang kulet.

The pool is so small. It looks like 4 bath tubs na magkakadugtong. Yung room was sobrang uncomfortable, the CRs didn't have locks and showers. Hindi ok. I didn't even mention the name in the entry! Haha. :P The nice beaches in Batangas are in San Juan or Laiya, I guess.
